Review
As a homeschooling mother I have experienced that pull between being my children’s teacher and my husband’s beloved wife. There are days that I am left with the sensation that there is just not enough time in the day or energy to be both mother/teacher and wife/helpmeet. We all know that homeschooling is well worth the effort, but it is also quite consuming. Sometimes it complicates a marriage. But as significant as homeschooling is, Heidi St John reminds us that we should not sacrifice our marriage on the altar of home education.
While the title is certainly a mouthful, The Busy Homeschool Mom’s Guide to Romance: Nurturing your Marriage through the Homeschool Years, gives the reader plenty to chew on. Within the pages of her book, Heidi dispels myths of homeschooling and marriage, offers hope and encouragement for struggling moms, challenges us to create clear priorities in our lives, lays out practical application, and most importantly points us to Christ–our source of strength.
If you are looking for a deep theological book on marriage, The Busy Homeschool Mom’s Guide to Romance is not the book for you. It is an easy read with concepts that are simple. I picked the book up and read it in a short amount of time. But easy and simple does not always mean empty and shallow. This book is full of meaning, and one that I have gone back to from time to time and referenced again. It is also a book that I have shared with other homeschooling moms, all of which say it was a great source of encouragement.
As an author, Heidi is as real and authentic as it gets. So if you are looking for a great book to read or give to someone special, I would highly recommend The Busy Homeschool Mom’s Guide to Romance. For more information about this book visit, www.heidistjohn.com.

From the website: For more than a decade, Jay and Heidi St. John have been ministering to homeschooling families. In 2010, Heidi drew from her experience as a busy homeschool mom to write “The Busy Homeschool Mom’s Guide to Romance”, which was an extension of a class she had been teaching at homeschool conferences for several years.
Sounds interesting.
I would LOVE to read this book! It sounds perfect for the Christian American Mom
There’s romance after/during homeschool? lol…sounds like a must-read!
Funny, I was thinking about this very subject just the other day.
Sounds like a great book. Thanks!
This sound like a fun one to read
At the end of the day with kids & responsibility, I often need to be reminded that I’m a wife first, mom second-looks like a helpful book to keep that top of mind.
I appreciated the article your magazine had earlier this year by Heidi St. John. I’m sure the book will be wonderful too!
