For 26 consecutive years, U.S. News & World Report has ranked OBU as one of the top 10 best regional colleges in the western United States. The Princeton Review has named OBU as a “Best in the West” college for 13 years running. This high academic standard, combined with an integration of faith into all fields of study, make OBU a welcoming college home for homeschooled students.
OBU values academics heavily, as do homeschool families, and homeschool students are typically extremely well prepared for life as students on Bison Hill, OBU’s campus. Faculty and staff work together with homeschoolers and their families in making the transition to college as seamless as possible, helping the student find success in the college classroom just as the have in the homeschool setting.
CAMPUS & BEYOND
For those who have graduated and are ready to pursue high education, Oklahoma Baptist University helps students find their place, on campus and in their lives, callings, and careers. OBU prepares graduates to think critically about worldviews, values, and truth to discover God’s plan for their lives and their place in the world.
OBU academics integrate faith into all fields. Faculty and students actively discuss their faith on a college campus that is truly Christ-centered. Students likewise find abundant opportunities to serve others, whether on campus, around the community, or on the other side of the world. This focus on faith, service, and personal growth has led OBU to be a national leader among Baptist colleges and universities in the number of graduates working in international service or missions vocations.
On Bison Hill, students participate in a wide range of activities throughout the year, including a strong intramural sports program, club sports, student talent shows, concerts, and Bible studies. OBU also competes nationally in 21 NCAA Division II varsity sports.
